Sultanpur National Park

Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary is located on Gurgaon Jhajjar road approximately 40 km from Rajiv Chowk, Gurgaon. This Bird Sanctuary, is a small one best visited in winters when a large number of migratory birds come here whereas rest of the season an early morning visit can also be made. I have been visiting this place for quite a long time now and reasonably good preservation of natural habitat been done by MOEF as it’s a National Park. More than 100 species of Birds are found here, most of them are resident, while some come from distant regions like Russia, Europe and Middle East.

Aside Sultanpur National Park, 10 Kms before while coming from Gurgaon, there is a wet land “Basai” and known only to locals. Quite a number of birds can be spotted here. Over a period of time, this wet land is trapped in midst of rapid construction happening around it.
